Many things have been happening lately. Composer and musician, John Zeretske, graced us with his presense and music. In addition, he taught us how musical instruments became part our modern music. John Zeretske is a master at the instruments he plays; his show was great.
Students are also learning about the weather and high and low pressure. This morning we made hot air balloons out of plastic bags and made them rise with hot air. Mollie's balloon went the highest and Mason's went the furthest. They all thought that it was really cool. One balloon actually landed on the roof.
Each of our classrooms at FGWS is enjoying the Smartboards and students are interacting with them well. This Friday, the students will participate in Read Across America , in honor of Dr. Suess's birthday, with reading activities and a video conference reading activity with Shasta Elementary. Next week are the state writing assessments and we are working hard, and smart, to be prepared.
